Perfetti Van Melle introduces Virtual Reality to its training program

Virtual Reality

On March 28, Perfetti Van Melle released its first Virtual Reality Risk Training Program called ‘Virtual Factory’. This immersive, educational Virtual Reality experience allows our SHE&R employees to carry out training autonomously -  from anywhere and at any time.

Using the most advanced camera possible with 24 lenses to get a full 360-degree picture, the videos were shot at our plant in Shanghai together with two representatives from Willis Towers Watson, who guided us through the factory, uncovering and explaining principal risks on business continuity and property damage for each area.

The Virtual Reality training program was then created combining the 360-degree videos with additional interactive components, such as pictures and questionnaires, allowing the user to inspect every area of the factory in detail and answer multiple choice questions on very specific aspects of Risk Management.

Thanks to this technology being made available at each plant, we can now keep track of everyone’s progress and individual scores on a more regular basis to ensure consistently high standards of Risk Management across all our plants.
